The Quinninup Eagle

The eagle was made by a local artist craftsman, John Goodlad in 1983 to advertise the location of Quinninup where he had his studio.  It was positioned down on the intersection of Wheatley Coast Road and the SouthWest Highway.

In 1985 an article appeared in the Warren Blackwood Times about the removal of the Eagle from its location on the Highway.  Residents then relocated the Eagle to its present position at the southern entrance to the town where it has remained to the present day.  The Eagle has been well looked after over the years, featuring prominently in many of the school children’s art projects and receiving a new coat of paint on a regular basis.
